- In the case hearing in 2020, the CBI filed an untraced report in the court stating that it did not have enough evidence to file a charge sheet against Kalyani Singh. At the same time, it sought the court’s permission to continue its investigation due to a strong suspicion on her.

The court also asked Kalyani’s counsels to remain present during the investigation in the police station without actively participating or interfering in the investigation process. The court also said that Kalyani was free to use her own clothes, subject to checking, while she was in the custody of the CBI.
