Some Lesser Known Facts About Sukhwinder Wasi

• Sukhwinder Wasi is an Indian who was one of the accused in the ex-Bigg Boss contestant and BJP leader Sonali Phogat murder case in August 2022. The Goa police arrested him along with his crime partner Sudhir Sangwan.

• According to some media sources, Sukhwinder Wasi came in contact with Sonali Phogat in 2019 when she contested the Haryana Assembly elections as the BJP candidate, and they joined Phogat’s team as ground workers during the Adampur election.

• Soon after the elections, she appointed Sudhir Sangwan as her personal assistant and manager, and later, Sukhwinder Wasi also joined her office.

• She remained very active on various social media platforms. Sonali Phogat and her daughter were often noticed posting pictures on one of their social media platforms along with Sukhwinder Wasi.

• According to the report lodged by Sonali’s brother to Goa police, Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Wasi were blackmailing Sonali with a videotape of rape and accused them of raping Sonali Phogat. He added that in 2019, Sudhir Sangwan seized ownership of Sonali’s house and hired his friend Sukhwinder Wasi to take care of Sonali’s house and professional matters. Sudhir fired all of her old employees and started suppressing Sonali.

• Days after the murder of Sonali Phogat, a video went viral on social media in which she was seen dancing with her two associates.

• In a media conversation, her brother, Rinku Dhaka stated that a few days before the death of Sonali Phogat, she spoke to her family members and told them that Sangwan mixed some intoxicants in her drink and raped her three years ago and made a video of the same. Since then, he was blackmailing her along with his companion Sukhwinder Wasi. Rinku Dhaka said,
  

  She said he was also involved in the theft at her house and that she will take action against him after coming to Hisar. She told Aman that Sangwan and Sukhwinder can do anything with her. The phone got disconnected after that.”

• On 26 August 2022, Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Wasi confessed to the Goa police that they intentionally mixed some obnoxious substance into a drink and forcefully made the victim consume it. Goa police IGP Omvir Singh Bishnoi said,
  

  On the basis of CCTV footage, it was seen that accused Sudhir Sangwan & his associate Sukhwinder Singh were partying with the deceased at a club. A video establishes that one of them forcefully made the victim consume a substance.”
