• As the chairman of the Bapuji Educational Association, he oversees a network of over 50 educational establishments, such as the Bapuji Institute of Engineering & Technology, JJM Medical College, Bapuji Dental College and Hospital, and Colleges of Pharmacy, Law, and Polytechnic.

• He is the owner of the Shamanur Group, a collection of companies that specializes in the production of sugar and alcoholic beverages. The group includes Shamanur Sugars Pvt. Ltd., which is based in Duggavatti, Davangere, and Indian Cane Power Ltd., situated in Mudhol, Bijapur district.

• In 2012, he founded the Dr Shamanur Shivashankarappa Janakalyna Trust by depositing Rs 5 crores. The interest generated from this deposit is utilized to offer scholarships to economically disadvantaged students in Davangere.
