- Amira Gill is an Indian singer, songwriter, and music therapist. She is well-known for performing “Das Main Ki Pyaar Vichon Khatteya” for Coke Studio with Deveshi Sahgal and Kanwar Grewal. She is skilled at both Indian classical music and Punjabi tappe.
- Amira Gill entered the music circuit at the age of 14 when she started doing gigs at the local clubs in Delhi with an indie band ‘The Incredible Mindfunk’. But after playing for the same crowds at the same venues for a few years, Amira wanted to broaden her musical horizons and explore it in new ways which led her to the Berklee College of Music to study music therapy.
- In the Fall of 2015, she received a merit-based Berklee Scholarship to Berklee for her bachelor’s in Music Therapy.
- At Berklee College of Music, she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy from 2015 to 2020. - Apart from Music Therapy, Amira became skilled in the folk music of India, the Middle East, and the Balkans. She also performed on stage alongside renowned musicians like Vijay Prakash, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Tigran Hamasyan, and Amal Murkus while attending Berklee. She played folk music from Pakistan and Punjab at the Berklee School of Music’s International Folk Festival. She worked on the album Shuruaat while attending Berklee, and it was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Global Music Album category in 2022.
- Amira volunteered as a Music Therapist at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America for 3 months in 2017 from August to October where her work included refocusing the children’s attention on creative participation, entertainment, expression, socializing, and integration through the use of musical activities like songwriting, studio recording, group music creation, and choir singing.

- In 2019, after graduating from Berklee, Amira travelled to Kenya and Uganda with the organisation ‘Umoja Global Community Music Therapy.’ Through music therapy techniques like goal-based songwriting, lyric substitution, community singing, dance, and drumming, the Umoja Global team concentrated their efforts on fostering a sense of community and empowering women and children to overcome challenging life situations.
- In 2020, Amira Gill got her official license as a Music Therapist from the Certification Board for Music Therapists and her Neurologic Music Therapist license from The International Neurologic Music Therapy Training Institute.
