ControversyIllegal construction at his theme park
In May 2018, Anwar was accused of an unauthorised construction at his water theme park in Kakkadampoyil by the Kozhikode District Collector PV Thomas. In June 2018, the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority issued a stop memo to the park; however, Anwar filed a case in the high court against the stop memo. In April 2019, the High Court gave a verdict against him and ordered the immediate demolition of the illegal check dam that he constructed at his water theme park. . Later, P.V. Anwar accused the Communist Party of India (CPI) of trying to destroy his business ventures by taking legal actions against his water theme Park but the CPI denied all the accusations made by him. Some Lesser Known Facts About P.V. Anwar

  • P.V. Anwar belongs to one of the ancient families of Malabar, the Puthanveettil family. Many generations of his family have been closely linked with the Indian National Congress.
  • While pursuing graduation, he was appointed as the College Union Chairman.
  • After completing his formal education, he started a crushing company known as the PeeVeeaaR Crushers, which later became one of the prominent crushers in Malabar.
  •  In 2021, P.V. Anwar gained a lot of media attention right before the 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly elections. Many sources claimed on social media that Anwar was under arrest in Ghana, South Africa. Many netizens began flooding the comment section of the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo’s Facebook page with sarcastic memes demanding the release of PV Anwar from Ghana jail.
  • Later, Anwar posted a video on his social media revealing that he was not arrested in Ghana but was on a business deal. He said,

    I came to Sierra Leone for a gold-diamond mining project after researchers had found deposits of gold and diamond in the 50,000-acres forest land. The project has a potential to generate about 25,000 jobs.”

  • In April 2023, P.V. again gained much media attention over different social media platforms after he called Indian politician Rahul Gandhi “a low-level citizen”. He also asked Gandhi to get a DNA test done to check if he even belonged to the Gandhi family after Rahul Gandhi made a derogatory remark against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He said,

    I am part of the Wayanad, which is Rahul Gandhi’s constituency. I can’t call him by the surname of Gandhi. He has turned into such a low-level citizen who does not deserve to be called by the Gandhi surname. I am not saying this. The people of India have been saying this for the last two days.”
