  • Her grandfather, Lala Sooraj Bhan, was a freedom fighter.
  • In 1994, while studying at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, Archana Gupta won a gold medal in Radiology for her excellent academic performance.
  • After completing her medical education, she started a diagnostic centre in Panipat with her husband, Dr Anil Gupta, who is an eye specialist.
  • During her medical practice, she became associated with the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP).
  • During her social work at VHP, she joined an initiative called Indian Health Line, which was started by doctor and VHP leader Praveen Togadia.
  • Along with her medical work in Panipat, her social service through the VHP became the beginning of her public life.
  • Between 2010 and 2016, she steadily rose in the VHP.
  • In 2013, she started working as the co-convener of the Medical Cell of the VHP. She served in the position till 2014.
  • When the BJP formed the government in 2014, she decided to leave full-time medical work and focus on politics.

  • In 2014, she was appointed as the Haryana Vice President of Bharatiya Swasthya Rekha, the health wing of the VHP. She served in the position till 2019.
  • On 9 September 2015, she became the Panipat District Mahila Morcha President.
  • In 2016, she was appointed as the BJP Mahila Morcha District President for Panipat.
  • In 2019, she actively campaigned for BJP candidates in both Lok Sabha and Haryana Assembly elections.
  • On 13 August 2019, she was appointed as the District President of BJP in Panipat, Haryana.

  • In June 2026, she made headlines when she was appointed as the State President of the Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
  • She officially took charge of the officer on 3 June 2026. She replaced Mohan Lal Badoli.
  • Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini formally handed over the responsibility to her at the party headquarters in Panchkula.

  • She created history as she became the second woman to lead the Haryana BJP after a gap of 43 years.
  • The first woman State President was Dr. Kamla Verma, who served in the position from 1980 to 1983.
  • After becoming the state president, Gupta thanked the BJP leadership for placing its trust in a woman party worker in a media conference. She said,

    I would work for women’s empowerment and encourage more women to take part in politics and the economy.”

  • She is known for being a close supporter of Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
