- Azam Khan wanted to become a cricketer since childhood.
- He made his List A debut in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup in which he played for Pakistan Television.
- On 5 March 2019, he made his T20 debut in the Pakistan Super League, where he played for Quetta Gladiators.
- He was selected by the cricket team Galle Gladiators for the first edition of the Lanka Premier League in October 2020.
- He made his first-class debut in the 2020-21 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for Sindh on 26 December 2020.
- In August 2021, he was acquired by Barbados Royals for the 2021 Caribbean Premier League.
