- Aaron Jones was born in the USA but moved to Barbados at the age of 3 years.
- He played various sports such as cricket and soccer (football) during his childhood but later chose cricket as his professional career.
- He played for Barbados at all age-group levels including Under-13, Under-15, and Under-19.
- He played alongside many West Indies players such as Shai Hope and Jason Holder while living in Barbados.
- On 7 January 2016, he played his maiden List-A match for Combined Campuses and Colleges against Leeward Islands.
- On 26 October 2017, he made his first-class debut for Barbados against Trinidad & Tobago.
- Jones wanted to play for the West Indies national team; however, when he realised that it may never happen, he moved to the USA in search of better opportunities for his cricketing career. Jones had American citizenship due to his parents who had worked in the USA.
