- Shaik Rasheed is an Indian cricketer who is known for being the vice captain of the U-19 Indian cricket team that won the U-19 Cricket World Cup in February 2022.
- When he started training at the Prasad Cricket Academy in Hyderabad which was fifty kilometres away from his house, his father, Shaik Balisha, used to take him to the coaching every day on his scooter because of which he had to leave his job. After this, they moved back to Guntur.
- When he was eight years old, he got a chance to meet cricketer VVS Laxman, and he received a tournament award for a match in Andhra Pradesh.
- According to him, he said that his family could not afford the huge fees of the cricket academies in Guntur. Later, he got admission to the ACA’s residential cricket academy and even started living there. In the academy, he was trained by coach J Krishna Rao who was impressed by Rasheed’s game. In an interview, his coach talked about him and said,
He must have been 7 or 8 and was facing our U-16 bowlers quite comfortably. He looked so composed. Deep down I knew that he has talent and must nurture him delicately.”
- In 2020, he was initially rejected at the U-14 and U-16 levels in the Andhra team. Two years after training, he was selected for the Andhra U-14 team.
