  • Raiza Dhillon is the first Indian to qualify in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 skeet event.
  • In childhood, she got interested in guns used for trophy hunting by her grandfather and father.
  • Her mother initially was not in favour of her choosing shooting, and she tried to introduce her to other sports such as tennis and swimming.
  • She liked to practice with toy guns on empty cans and bottles and started formally practising at age 12.
  • She started training under Amrinder Singh Cheema, a friend of her father, international shooter, and four-time national winner at Motibagh Gun Club in Patiala.
