  • During his teens, he was inclined toward sports and used to play soccer and cricket.
  • At the age of 17, Shawn started developing an interest in bodybuilding and soon he joined a gym to gain an appropriate body size and strength. In 1990, he shifted to the US and started his career as a bodybuilder.
  • In the initial years of his career as an amateur bodybuilder, he faced several injuries, and he had to take a break from bodybuilding for a short period of time. After getting encouraged by Mr. Universe Yohhnie Shambouger, he again started working for bodybuilding competitions.

  • In 1993, he had a major injury in his right hand after an accident in the gym. His doctors advised him to quit bodybuilding, but he continued his training and participated in various bodybuilding competitions.

  • In 2010, he returned to bodybuilding and won the IFBB Pro card.
