• As a child, her parents inspired her to take up sports because they were both former athletes. They encouraged her to take up sports when they saw her potential.

• When she was 14 years old and in the eighth grade, Preeti Pawar was focused on studying and not interested in sports.

• She inclined towards sports when her father, Somveer Sai Pawar, a police officer, and her uncle, Vinod Sai Pawar, a boxing coach, motivated her to start boxing.

• In 2021, she joined the Inspire Institute of Sports in Karnataka, which began sponsoring her. She trained under coach John Warburton there.

• Preeti Pawar won a silver medal at the Khelo India Youth Games in Guwahati in 2020 and a gold medal in Panchkula in 2021.

• She also won a silver medal at the Youth Asian Championships in 2021.

• Preeti Pawar represented India in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

• To prepare for the Asian Games, she attended a 17-day international training camp in Wuyishan, China. After the training, she claimed in a media conversation that she could beat anyone. She said,
  

  I am absolutely ready. I have sparred with different teams. Based on the kind of sparring [available], I feel I can beat everyone.”

• In April 2023, Preeti Pawar participated in the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship but lost to Thailand’s Jutamas Jitpong.

• She earned a place in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics by defeating Kazakh boxer Zhaina Shekerbekova. This victory moved her to the 54 kg women’s boxing semifinal rounds, where she lost 5-0 to Yuan Chang of China.
