- She started with modelling and later got a breakthrough in the Tamil film industry.
- Kirat was born in Liberia and belonged to a Sikh family from Chandigarh, but she was raised in Delhi.
- Kirat signed up to do the project Desiya Nedunchalai 47 with Dhanush, but the project was delayed and later cancelled.
- In 2006, she appeared in the Telugu film Dongodi Pelli, where she portrayed the role of Ratna.
- She was also confirmed for the lead role in the Telugu film Yamadonga (2007) starring N. T. Rama Rao Jr. but turned it down at the last-minute citing other commitments; the film went on to become a huge hit, grossing 30 crores in the first month of its release.
