• Anshul Kuncha was born and raised in Gundlapochampally in Telgana’s Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

• During his college years in Hyderabad, he actively volunteered with an NGO, Blue Cross of India, where he worked for welfare of stray dogs.

• After completing his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Anshul worked with Jio Platforms Limited (JPL), Hyderabad as an Operations Analyst.

• In December 2021, he joined Amazon India, Bangalore as Senior Product Compliance Analyst.

• In 2022, Anshul moved to the United States for higher studies and enrolled at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, Philadelphia to pursue a Master’s degree in Business Analytics.

• Between 2022 and 2024, he received the LeBow Alumni Merit Scholarship for learning expertise in SQL, advanced statistics, business analyst, and data visualization.

• Despite having a full time Corporate job, he also worked part-time as a pizza delivery boy on weekends to earn extra income.

• On 5 June 2026, Anshul Kuncha was gunshot dead while he was delivering a pizza in North Philadelphia.

• H was shot in the back of the head. Police Officers found him bleeding heavily and unresponsive. Anshul was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

• During the initially investigations police found out that someone had called him to a pizza delivery order to a vacant place in a housing complex in Philadelphia in the early hours of 5 June 2026. The surveillance cameras of Philadelphia Housing Authority showed two people wearing dark clothing and carrying a backpack following him before shooting.

• His sister, Tanvi alleged that the pizza delivery was a “trap” meant to “kill him”. In an interview, she said,

He was told to deliver pizza in an abandoned area, but we later learned it was a decoy. There was no one there; it was a trap, meant solely to kill him. We do not know what they gained or what their intentions were. They took my brother and killed him.”

• His sister also appealed the authorities to shift her brother’s body to India. She said,

My brother was a loving and joyful person. He had been in the US for nearly four years. We came to know that he was trapped through a fake pizza delivery request and was shot dead. Our only request is that his body be brought back to India as early as possible.”

• While talking to media, his sister shared that, Anshul had been the victim of a robbery in the US previously also. During which his chain, phone, and cash were stolen; however, after that he had never faced a life-threatening attack.

• The Consulate General of India in New York acknowledged the incident and stated that it would be in touch with local authorities and Anshul’s family. On X it wrote,

We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Mr. Anshul Kuncha, an Indian national in Philadelphia, PA. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time. The Consulate is in touch with Anushul’s family and is extending all possible assistance.”

• The Philadelphia Police announced a reward of up to $20,000 for the information leading to the arrest of those who are responsible for Anshul Kuncha’s killing.
