  • Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan was born and raised in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. He is one of the sons of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding father of UAE.
  • While studying at Calfornia, he developed a strong interest in martial arts especially Brazilian jiu-jitsu and also received professional training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He is also knoen as God Father of Brazilian jiu-jitsu in UAE.
  • In 1992, Tahnoon founded First Gulf Bank.
  • In 1998, Tahnoon co-founded the ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship with Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor Nelson Monteiro and played and important role in promoting the sport in UAE.
