- Akash Makhija grew up in Kalyan, Maharashtra, in a family with no connection to the entertainment industry.
- As a child, he loved watching television shows like CID, Dekh Bhai Dekh, horror serials, and films directed by Priyadarshan. He was especially fond of the character Baburao from the film ‘Hera Pheri’ (2000) and memorised his dialogues.
- Akash was inspired by comedian Raju Srivastav, and he often copied his performances in school.
- While performing in a college play, a friend told him about an audition, which led him to his first acting job as a junior artist in ‘Sankatmochan Jai Hanuman.’
