Some Lesser Known Facts About Divij Surapaneni

• Divij Surapaneni was born in Pune Maharashtra. After that his family moved to Bangalore, Karnataka.

• After moving to Bangalore, Divij joined The Sports School, where he continued his football practice and became a regular center-back for the Under 15 state team.

• During his time at The Sports School, he progressed through the youth system and moved from the U15 team to U19 team within about two years.

• In 2023, he became associated with the Bengaluru Football Club Youth setup, as The Sport School and Bengaluru FC operate a joint football development program. The Program gives talented students opportunities to train and play with BFC youth teams.

• In 2024, Divij made an important step in his career when he moved into the Bengaluru FC Reserves. He played in the KSFA Super Division and the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL).

• In the same year, he was selected for the Karnataka U20 squad.

• In the 2024-25 season, his performance for Bengaluru FC Reserved and the Karnataka state side helped him attract attention as a promising young defender.

• During that time Divij also got the opportunity to work under India U17 head Coach, Bibiano Fernades.

• In 2025, instead of continuing his football career in India, Divij decided to move to Europe, where he signed for Slovenian club NK Brinje Grosuplje in September 2025.

• In February 2026, he moved to NK Podravina Ludbreg in Croatia, where he played as a defender for Podravina.

• He also became part of the NK Podravina Ludbreg when it qualified for the Croatian Football Cup.

• In August 2026, he joined Croatian club NK Suphopolje, where he listed as a centre-back; however, he can also play at right-back, left-back and defensive midfield.

• His Croatian Football Federation record shows that he made appearances in the 2025-56 Croatian Third League North while with Podravina.

• As of September 2026, Divij Surapaneni is playing for NK Suphopolje, in Croatia.

• Divij is an avid animal lover and also works as a self-employed animal caretaker. He has a pet named Shih Tzu named Oli and adopted a wild cat named Juni.

• Along with that Divij has volunteered with Shree Ananta Drishti Charitable Trust, which is associated with an old-age home. As a volunteer, he helped in organising food drives for elderly people.
