Angad Singh’s family has been engaged in politics for more than 5 decades. His paternal grandfather, Dilbagh Singh, represented the Nawanshahr Vidhan Sabha seat six times before his father won the Nawanshahr seat in 2002.

In 2008, he contested his first election and became the general secretary of the District Youth Congress Nawanshahr at the age of 18.
- He is also a national-level shooter.
- When he was 21 years old, he was elected as the President of the Punjab Youth Congress from Nawanshahr.
- In 2016, he organised a rally for Captain Amarinder Singh in San Francisco, which was attended by more than 1200 people.
- In 2017, he contested in the Punjab’s Assembly election against his uncle and AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) candidate, Charanjit Singh Channi, and became the youngest MLA of Punjab at the age of 26 years.
- In 2018, he alleged that the senior Congress leader assaulted him and his family, Jasbir Singh Dimpa after he protested the presence of Dimpa and his brothers inside the polling booth during the election of RDTCSL (Rohtak District Transport Co-operative Society Limited).
- In January 2022, he claimed that the Congress denied him a ticket for the Punjab Assembly election as a punishment because his wife, Aditi Singh, left Congress for the BJP.
