• Before adopting singing as the sole profession, Anupama served as a bureaucrat in Uttar Pradesh. She is a former assistant commissioner of Commercial Tax Department and has also served as an Officer On Special Duty in the Lucknow Development Authority.

• She learned classical musical from Ustad Gulshan Bharti of Lucknow gharana and Yogendra Bhat of Gwalior gharana under the traditional guru-shishya parampara.

• Early in her singing career, Anupama used to be a regular singing talent at both Doordarshan and Aakashwani. Additionally, she sang for five consecutive years at the Lucknow Mahotsav.

• Her debut song, Shalu Ke Thumke, featuring Mallika Sherawat, from the movie Bin Bulaaye Baarati (2011) was widely appreciated.
