  • Champat Rai is an Indian politician who is known for being the General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in 2024. He is also the Vice President of Vishva Hindu Parishad.
  • Rai had been interested in the ideologies of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since he was a child, and used to actively work for the organization. He has dedicated himself in spreading the ideas of the Sangh and served as a promoter for the group.
  • He has also served as a professor of Physics at RSM Degree College, Dhampur, Bijnor.
  • In 1975, when the Emergency was declared by Indira Gandhi, Champat was arrested by the police for having links with the RSS.
  • He was kept in various jails for 18 months. After releasing from the jail, he quitted his government job as a lecturer and joined the Vishva Hindu Parishad, an Indian right-wing Hindu organisation.
  • He later became a part of a movement for establishing the Ram Temple. He used to influence the youth for the movement in the Awadh region.
