Controversies | • Accused of driving rashly On 21 October 2018, Suresh Babu was accused of driving rashly at Sikh Village Road in Secunderabad, where his car stuck into Satish Chandra's scooter, who was accompanied by his wife Durga Devi, and their three-year-old son, Siddesh Chandra. The victims suffered various injuries and were immediately taken to the hospital for further treatment. One of the victim’s relatives, Boggula Sanjay Kumar, filed a complaint against Suresh Babu and consequently, the Karkhana police booked Suresh under Section 337 (causing hurt and endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC and a notice was issued under Section 41 of CrPC (The Code of Criminal Procedure). [6]Deccan Chronicle • Cheated of Rs 1 lakh on the pretext of arranging Covid vaccines Suresh Babu received a call from Nagarjuna Reddy on 31 May 2021, on the pretext of arranging 500 Covid-19 vaccination doses for his employees for Rs 1 lakh. Suresh agreed to the offer and Nagarjuna asked him to transfer the money to his wife, T Laxmi’s bank account. After Suresh transferred the amount to him, Nagarjuna switched off his cellphone following which Suresh realised that he had been duped by Nagarjuna. Suresh filed a complaint against Nagarjuna at the Jubilee Hills police station and a case was registered against him under sections 406 and 420 of the IPC. [7]The Siasat Daily • Summoned in a land-grabbing case In February 2023, a local businessman, Pramod Kumar, accused Suresh Babu and his son Rana Daggubati of allegedly sending bullies, who threatened him to vacate the property and installed boards on the property, which stated that the property belonged to Suresh Babu. Pramod, in his complaint, claimed that in 2014, Suresh leased the property to him, which was situated in Film Nagar Cooperative Housing Society, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. After the lease period ended, Suresh initiated a deal to sell the property to Pramod for Rs 18 crores. To register the deal, Pramod paid Rs 5 crores in advance to Suresh but on the contrary, without prior informing him, Suresh sold the property to his son Rana Daggubati for Rs 9 crores. Suresh and Rana were summoned by the Nampally Criminal Court in their alleged involvement in the land acquisition case and were booked under the IPC sections of assault or use of criminal force (352), punishment for mischief (426), punishment for criminal trespass (447), criminal intimidation (503), and punishment for criminal intimidation (506). - D. Suresh Babu is an Indian film producer and distributor, who is the father of popular Indian actor Rana Daggubati. He is well known for majorly producing Telugu films such as Ganesh (1998), Kalisundam Raa (2000), Neeku Nenu Naaku Nuvvu (2003), Masala (2013), Drushyam (2014), and Gopala Gopala (2015).
- Suresh completed his first two years of mechanical engineering at the College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai. In 1981, he enrolled himself at the University of Michigan, Michigan, USA, where he completed the remaining years of his engineering degree. [10]Idlebrain
- Suresh came back to India after completing his mechanical engineering degree from the University of Michigan in the USA. He aspired to launch his own business in India but things didn’t go as planned and eventually, he joined his father’s film production business.

People are not coming to theaters as they are opting for Netflix and Amazon to watch all the latest movies. They are only watching the big spectacles like Sye Raa and Saaho in theaters. The situation is so worse that I am unable to pay even power bills, forget about staff salaries for my theaters.”
- A clip of Suresh Babu went viral on social media on 4 January 2023 in which he was seen controlling the traffic near Film Nagar in Hyderabad. Suresh, who got stuck in the traffic jam, managed to clear it within no time.
