Controversy | Code of Conduct Violation [4]The Kathmandu Post In November 2019, Dipendra Singh Airee became the vice-captain of Nepal's cricket team. Then, in 2021, he, along with three other players named Gyanendra Malla, Kamal Singh Airee, and Sompal Kami said that they were not happy with their contracts and how they were graded. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) asked them to give clarification, and they did explain; however, CAN was not happy with their explanations. So, on December 15, 2021, they removed Dipendra from his role as vice-captain and also said that these players would not get a contract for the first six months of 2022. CAN said that these players have violated the code of conduct and said, "The players have signed the code of conduct with CAN but they did not follow it. As per article 3.3.1 of the code, the players should not make any statement to the media in ways to bring the game, ACC, ICC, board or office bearers into disrepute." |
