Controversies	• Caught taking a bribe In 2016, after the Narada sting operation, a video of Firhad Hakim went viral. In the video, he was seen taking a bribe. In September 2017, he was questioned for eight hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation at Nizam Palace about the sting operation during which he claimed that it was a political conspiracy" against his party and that "he was not seen taking cash in any of the footage". He was arrested by the CBI in 2021 under the same case. • Trolled for calling his constituency Mini Pakistan In 2016, during an interview with the Pakistani journalist Maleeha Hamid Sidiqui referred to his constituency as Mini Pakistan. Later, his commen went viral and he was trolled for it; however, he claimed that he was miquoted and was being targeted only because he is a Muslim.
