• Inderjit Singh Gosal hails from Brampton, Ontario.

• Singh was born and raised in India before moving to Canada.

• Over time, he became involved in pro-khalistani activities in Canada and joined Sikh For Justice (SFJ), a U.S.-based organization advocating for a “Khalistan referendum” to establish an independent Sikh state in Punjab.

• In November 2023, Gosal was arrested for a violent incident at a Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, Canada. He was among 13 other people who were accused of assaulting worshippers.

• After his arrest, SFJ claimed that Inderjit was allegedly targeted because he was hosting a consular camp at that time. However, some Indian officials from the Consulate in Toronto were present on the premises during this time.

• After one week, the Peel Regional Police (PRP) released Gosal and ordered him to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton whenever he was asked to appear.

• After the Brampton incident, Canadian police issued a “duty to warn” notice to Gosal, indicating concerns for his safety.

• In August 2025, in an interview, Gosal said that he was not afraid of dying if it was for the establishment of an independent homeland for Sikhs in Punjab. He added,

I know what I signed up for, death doesn’t scare me.”

• In September 2025, Inderjit Singh Gosal, along with his two associates, was arrested while traveling from Brampton to Ottawa. They were charged with possession of unlicensed firearms. All three were in custody and are expected to face formal charges and possible jail time.

• Inderjit Singh Gosal’s arrest comes after a high-level meeting between India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Canadian Security Nathalie G. Drouin on 19 September 2025.
