• Jessica Bang was born in South Korea and later built her golf career in Australia. She maintained family connection in both South Korea (through her father) and Sydney (through her mother).

• Bang started playing golf when she was 10 years old.

• She was associated with Glenmore Heritage Valley Golf Club in Sydney.

• Before becoming a professional, Bang built a strong amateur career and won the prestigious Queensland Amateur title. Her amateur performances heled her earn a place on the professional circuit.

• Bang was nicknamed as Rookie Bang in golf circuit.

• In November 2025, Bang turned professional.

• At the end of 2025, Jessica earned her place on the Women’s Professional Golfers’ Association (WPGA) Tour of Australasia through Qualifying School.

• In February 2026, Jessica won the Ford Women’s New South Wales (NSW) Open Regional Qualifying Event at Moss Vale in only her fifth professional start.

• Her mother supported her directly on the course and acted as her caddie during Jessica’s victory.

• In the final round, she shot an 8-under-par-65 in the final round and set a course record at Moss Vale.

• In August 2026, she was preparing to take another major step in her career by competing in the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour International Qualifying Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand.

• On 1 August 2026, while in Bangkok preparing for the tournament, Bang suddenly collapsed after suffering a brain haemorrhage. She was taken to Synphaet Ramintra Hospital and underwent emergency brain surgery.

• Bang remained in intensive care unit and was place on life support for two weeks. Unfortunately, Bang died on 13 August 2026.

• Her family also started A GoFundMe page and received over 51,000 AUD ($36,200; £26,700) in donations as of 14 August 2026.

• Previously on the fundraising page, her family wrote that she was on life support in the intensive care unit. The money raised was first meant to bring her back home, but now it will help her family to cover her medical expenses.
