  • Jimmy belongs to a Gujarati business-class family in Mumbai.
  • Ratan Tata, in an interview, revealed that he and Jimmy faced a lot of difficulties as they were bullied extensively after Naval and Sooni parted ways in 1948. Talking about it, Ratan said,

    I had a happy childhood, but as my brother and I got older, we faced a fair bit of ragging and personal discomfort because of our parents’ divorce, which in those days wasn’t as common as it is today. But my grandmother brought us up in every way.”
