Some Lesser Known Facts About Kirodi Lal Meena

In 1985, Kirodi Lal Meena was appointed a member of the committee on Scheduled Caste Welfare in Rajasthan. He served in the position till 1988.

In 1988, he participated in the Cement Factory Movement in Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan and got injured during a police lathi charge.

He served as a member of the Advisory Committee of Lok Sabha on Food and Civil Supply from 1989 to 1991.

In 1990, he began working as a member of the Joint Committee on Office of Profit. He worked in the position till 1991.

During the 2013 Rajasthan Assembly elections, Kirodi Lal Meena contested on the ticket of the National People’s Party (NPP) and won from the Lalsot constituency.

In 2013, he was appointed as a member of the Estimate Committee, member of the Committee on Water Resources, and member of the Committee on Urban Development.

Kirodi Lal Meena served as a member of the Committee on Water Resources from 2018 to 2019.

In 2019, he was appointed as a member of the National Monitoring Committee for Education of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Persons with Disabilities.

On 30 December 2023, Kirodi Lal Meena was given the responsibility of Agriculture, Horticulture, Rural Development, Disaster Management, Relief, Civil Defense, and Public Charge Resolution.

He held these departments until 4 July 2024.

In July 2024, Kirodi Lal Meena resigned as the Rajasthan Agriculture Minister stating that he could not make his party win. He said,

Despite working actively for the last 10-12 years, I couldn’t make my party win in those areas where I have some impact.”

He is a fitness enthusiast and does yoga regularly. He often shares pictures of his yoga session on social media.
