Some Lesser Known Facts About Lando Norris
- Lando Norris was born into a wealthy family as his father retired as a pension manager and later founded Pure Electric. In 2018, his father was one of the wealthiest people in Bristol and ranked 501st among England’s richest people.
- He did horse riding, quad biking, and motorcycle riding during his childhood.
- When he was seven years old, his father took him to watch the national British Karting Championships after which he started karting. In his first karting competition, he won the pole position (the best and most advantageous starting position on the track).
- He initially studied as a boarder (boarding school student) at Millfield School in Somerset but dropped out before completing his General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE).
- He continued studying physics and mathematics under a full-time personal tutor. His family later moved to Glastonbury and enrolled him as a day pupil (a student who attends boarding school but lives at home) in a school there.
- His role model was Valentino Rossi, the Italian MotoGP driver.
- Norris later raced in various karting events including the 2011 Kartmasters British Grand Prix in the Comer Cadet category and 2010 Formula Kart Stars MSA in the Cadet category.
- In 2014, he won the CIK-FIA World Championship in the KF (aged 15 and above) category, becoming the youngest karting world champion in that category, at the age of 14 years).

- After his win, he was spotted with Donald Trump. Many people criticised Norris when he said that he had a lot of respect for Trump. Mclaren CEO Zak Brown said that Trump was a lucky charm for Norris.
