The video quickly went viral following which many people slammed her for her act. The Indonesian Ulema Council called her actions as blasphemy which led to a police complaint against her. On 19 September 2023, Roni Sianatra, the Chairman of the Panel of Judges, at the Palembang district court on Sumatra Island, sentenced Lina to 2 years in prison and imposed a fine of IDR 250 Million ($16,245 approx.) on her. She was found guilty under Law Number 11 of 2008 related to Information and Electronic Transactions and Article 45 paragraph (2) of Law Number 19 of 2016. During the trial, Lina was seen crying on several occasions and regretted her actions, stating that she did not anticipate such a severe punishment.
