Some Lesser Known Facts About Mick Jones
- In the early 1960s, he started his professional music career by joining the band Nero and the Gladiators.
- Thereafter, he started working as a songwriter and session musician for musical artists such as Françoise Hardy, Sylvie Vartan, and Johnny Hallyday in France. Some of the songs that he had written for Johnny Hallyday were “À tout casser” (1968) and “Je suis né dans la rue” (1969).
- He recorded with Tommy Brown, a member of the Nero and the Gladiators under session names State of Mickey & Tommy, Nimrod, and the J&B between 1965 and 1971.
- After leaving France, he returned to England and in 1971, joined the musician Gary Wright to form the band Wonderwheel.
- He reformed the band Spooky Tooth with Gary Wright in 1972.
- Later, he joined the Leslie West Band as a member.
- Jones formed the band Foreigner with Ian McDonald and Lou Gramm as lead singer in 1976.
- He released his solo album titled Mick Jones in 1989.
