• In May 1996, Nafe Singh Rathee was elected as a Member of the 9th Haryana Legislative Assembly from the Bahadurgarh constituency, representing the Social Action Party. He won the elections by a narrow margin of 1.1 per cent.

• In March 2000, he was re-elected as a member of the 10th Haryana Legislative Assembly from the Bahadurgarh constituency on the ticket of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). He served in the position till 2005.
