- Nomad Shubham grew up in a financially weak family in the Munger district of Bihar.
- His grandfather was a freedom fighter.
- Shubham’s parents are farmers. They have grown mango trees and tobacco on their land.
- He initially studied at home and then attended a local school in his village. He was academically good in his school days and scored 9.2 percentile in class 10.
- After pursuing class 12 from Bihar, Shubham went to Kota, where he enrolled in an institute to prepare for IIT-JEE exam.
- While he was in Kota, he used to watch random travel videos on YouTube. Once he saw a TEDx show on YouTube titled ‘How to Travel with Almost no Money,’ after which he became inclined towards travelling. He watched the video more than 10 times and thought of Couchsurfing.
- When he was just 6 months into the course, he decided to drop out of it and start travel vlogging.
- While he was in Kota, he used to travel to various locations in India, while hiding it from his parents.
- His first foreign trip was to Russia in August 2018.
