  • In an interview, Paridhi expressed that belonging to one of the richest families in the country does not mean that you are protected from sexism at work. Discussing the partialities that she faced as a woman in the corporate world, Paridhi said,

I married into a progressive family. I completed my studies and made my career after I got married. My family gave me immense support in the face of resistance from others. In fact, my husband often gets criticised for having a ‘rebellious’ wife. He gets pulled up for supporting me.”

Adding that casual sexism is present at every level of management, she said,

When we see a man and a woman together in a corporate set-up, we assume that the woman is junior; the one less capable. We still feel that critical meetings cannot be held in the absence of a man. I have met men who wouldn’t discuss finance or politics with me just because I am a woman. Most times, there is only one woman in a room full of men. The challenges for women in the workforce especially in managerial positions are endless.”
