  • The by-election has been happening in Anta constituency after the disqualification of sitting BJP MLA Kanwarlal Meena in May 2025 under the Representation of the People (RP) Act, 1951. Hw was found guilty under Indian Penal Code sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant), 506 (criminal intimidation), and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act in a 20-year-old case.
  • After Pramod’s nomination, the Supreme Court of India issued a notice to the Rajasthan Government to either combine or dismiss 29 FIRs against him. These FIRs include allegations of illegal mining, forgery, and misuse of funds. However, the court has declined to grant interim relief to Promod and ordered that he must have to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
