• She married actor turned politician Vijayakanth in Madurai in 1990, and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader M. Karunanidhi attended the ceremony. Once, in a media discussion, she shared that her father was impressed by Vijayakanth, and then their marriage was being arranged. She said,
