Some Lesser Known About Raiza Dhillon
- Raiza Dhillon is the first Indian to qualify in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 skeet event.
- In childhood, she got interested in guns used for trophy hunting by her grandfather and father.
- Her mother initially was not in favour of her choosing shooting, and she tried to introduce her to other sports such as tennis and swimming.
- She liked to practice with toy guns on empty cans and bottles and started formally practising at age 12.
- She started training under Amrinder Singh Cheema, a friend of her father, international shooter, and four-time national winner at Motibagh Gun Club in Patiala.
- She has attended the coaching camps at Gagan Narang Sports Promotion Foundation in Pune and trained under international coach and Olympian Ennio Falco for a brief period.
- She was part of the Indian team at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championship at Osijek, Croatia, in 2022.
- In March 2023, she participated in the skeet women’s individual and mixed team at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Shotgun in Larnaca, Cyprus.
