|Controversies||• In 2000, 2 unidentified assailants fired 2 bullets at him, one in the arm and other in his chest, near his office on Tilak Road at Santacruz West in Mumbai on a Friday evening. Luckily, Rakesh recovered quickly, got into his car and drove to the Santacruz police station, after which he was taken to the Nanavati Hospital, where Dr. Sharad Pandey, father of actor Chunky Pandey, successfully operated him.
• Before the release of the film Kaabil (2017), Rakesh Roshan (Producer) and Sanjay Gupta (Director), faced an allegation from Sudhanshu Pandey (Actor) that his original script Farmayish was stolen by the duo and later re-titled it with the name 'Kaabil.'

Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. . Love you Dad.
