Controversy	Criticised For His Comments: In 2019, after the release of the Bollywood film Kabir Singh, Sandeep Reddy Vanga was severely criticised for his controversial statement on love. In an interview, he said, "When you are deeply in love and deeply connected to a woman (and vice versa), if you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see anything there. She slapped him without a reason, at least Kabir had a reason to slap her. If you can’t slap, if you can’t touch your woman wherever you want, if you can’t kiss, I don’t see emotion there.” Later, in another interview, he clearified that people misjudged his statement. • Sandeep Reddy Vanga is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and editor. He mainly works in the Telugu and Hindi films. He came into the limelight for his directorial debut film Arjun Reddy (2017). Later, he renamed the film in Hindi-language with the title Kabir Singh (2019). The film was one the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time and entered the Rs. 200 crore club.

• In childhood, he was passionate about watching films. He often used to watch first-day first-show of Chiranjeevi’s movies in theatres with his brother. In an interview, while sharing his love for films, he said,
  

  The fans used to make such a noise that it was hard to hear the dialogue. You just went for the experience.”

• Sandeep was good at academics in childhood and his parents wanted him to pursue medicine or engineering in college. Sandeep preferred physiotherapy over engineering.

• In 2005, he worked as an apprentice for 25 days for the Telugu film Manasu Maata Vinadhu at Rushikonda Beach, Vizag.

• Sandeep then moved to Australia to study cinema. Meanwhile, he also worked part-time at Subway near his college.

• After completing his course, Sandeep returned to India and worked as an assistant director under Kiran Kumar for the Telugu-language action film Kedi (2010).

• A few years later, he worked as an associate director with Kranthi Madhav for the Telugu film ‘Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju.’

• His directorial debut film Arjun Reddy was filmed on a budget of 4 crores and grossed more than Rs. 50 crores at the box office. Despite of performing well at the box office, the film was criticised by the audience and critics for the depiction of smoking, drug use, and its kissing scenes.

• In 2018, Sandeep played a cameo as Vedantam Raghavayya in the Telugu-language biographical film Mahanati.
