Some Lesser Known Facts About Sanjeev Moghe

• In 1998, Sanjeev Moghe joined Asian Paints as Sales Executive in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He served in the position till 2000.

• In 2000, he was appointed as the Director of Citibank India in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He served in the position till May 2015.

• He was then promoted to the position of Director and Head of Strategy (S & D) in April 2010 at Citibank India. He then worked in the position till May 2015 in Mumbai.

• During this period, Sanjeev Moghe worked in the areas such as strategy, sales, distribution, and business growth.

• In June 2015, he was appointed as the Business Head of EMI Cards at Bajaj Finance Limited in Pune, Maharashtra, India. He served in the position till March 2018.

• During this period, he worked on consumer loans and EMI-based products.

• In March 2018, he started working as the EVP and Head of Cards and Payments at Axis Bank in Mumbai. He served in the position till March 2022.

• Sanjeev Moghe then took charge of the Cards and Payments business of the bank. This included work related to credit cards, debit cards, merchant payments, and other payment services.

• Under his leadership, one of the popular projects at Axis Bank was the Kochi1 Card, which was linked to the Kochi Metro. It was designed to make travel and payments easier for the consumers.

• In April 2022, Sanjeev Moghe was designated as the President and Head of Cards & Payments at Axis Bank.

• Under his leadership, Axis Bank launched the co-branded credit card with Flipkart known as Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card. Moghe became one of the key executives associated with the business.

• During this period, he also worked on the merchant-acquiring business of the bank. Under this method, they provided payment machines and digital payment services to shops and other businesses.

• In 2019, during a media interview, Sanjeev Moghe discussed how customers choose cards according to their lifestyle, spending habits and the benefits they receive. He also explained the growth of co-branded cards in online shopping, fuel, and travel.

• In 2022, he posted on social media about the partnership of Axis Bank with Visa which would help small merchants in accepting digital payments. He wrote that small merchants were an important part of the bank’s strategy.

• In 2024, Sanjeev Moghe  participated in a discussion with Visa and Cybersource about how to make easier for small and medium businesses to start accepting digital payments.

• On 20 May 2024, he was appointed as an Additional Director of CSC e-Governance Services India Limited.

• In April 2025, he was appointed as the Group Executive and Head of Branch Banking of South Geo at Axis bank.

• He was given the additional responsibility of the Branch Control Unit (BCU) and ATMs.

• On 25 April 2026, Axis Bank designated Sanjeev Moghe as a Senior Management Personnel.

• At that time, the bank described him as President and Head of Branch Banking (South). He was also appointed to the board of Axis Securities Limited in May 2026.

• On 4 October 2026, Sanjeev Moghe submitted his resignation from Axis Bank.
