- Sheynnis Palacios is a model, businesswoman, TV host, and social worker who made history in 2023 by becoming the first Nicaraguan woman to win the crown of Miss Universe.
- She started competing in beauty pageants while studying at her school and represented her home region of Carazo in the Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016 pageant which she won. In 2017, she was included in the Top 10 of the Miss Teen Universe 2017 held in Managua, Nicaragua.
- She represented Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, in the Miss World Nicaragua 2020 crown which she won on 16 May 2020. In 2020 and 2021, she could not participate in the Miss World pageants as those beauty shows were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- On 16 March 2022, she graced the stage of the 70th edition of Miss World, held at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico after emerging as the winner of a head-to-head Fastrack challenge. She could not win the title and finished in the Top 40. She could not compete in the 2022 Reinado Internacional del Café as she tested positive for COVID-19.

- She once said that her aim was to start her own International PR company and become an audio-visual producer. She also aimed to pursue her postgraduate degree in cinematography and a master’s degree in audiovisual production.
- In November 2020, she started a fundraiser project named ‘Uniting Lives’ after two hurricanes hit Nicaragua. She said that her purpose was to rebuild the San Bartolo bridge to help the affected people. She raises funds for children to receive cleft palate and cleft lip surgery at the Smile Nicaragua Operation Centre under the ‘Smiles That Teach’ project.
