ControversiesTweeted Anti-Semitic Jokes
In 2015, when Trevor Noah was announced to be the host of 'The Daily Show,' the fans of the show dug out his old tweets which were criticised for being Anti-Semitic. In 2009, Trevor had tweeted,

"Almost bumped a Jewish kid crossing the road. He didn't look b4 crossing but I still would hav felt so bad in my german car!"

Trevor defended himself and tweeted,

"To reduce my views to a handful of jokes that didn’t land is not a true reflection of my character, nor my evolution as a comedian"

Mary Kluk, who is the Chairman of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD), rejected the claims that Trevor's remarks were antisemitic in an interview and stated,

"Negative stereotypes of all people are potentially offensive. However, the SAJBD believes that tweets made by Noah do not constitute anti-Jewish prejudice on his part. Trevor Noah’s style of humour is playful, and is intended to provoke a response."
