- When Trinetra was young, she loved donning her mother’s saree and adorning herself with a bindi. While these actions were initially seen as charming by her family and neighbours, perceptions shifted as she aged. As she grew up, neighbours started suggesting that she participate in activities conventionally tied to boys, like playing cricket. In an interview, Trinetra mentioned that these comments prompted her parents to seek advice from a renowned psychiatrist, who believed she required a stronger masculine presence in her life.
- In an interview, Trinetra recounted a poignant memory from her school days about a hairclip she was fond of, worn by a classmate. Hesitant to admit her own desire to wear it, she told her friend that her mother wanted to try it. The friend, in good faith, handed it over. When the teacher noticed the hairclip’s absence and discovered that Trinetra had it, she clipped it onto Trinetra’s hair in full view of the class. The subsequent laughter from her peers deeply embarrassed Trinetra, leading her to shed tears for the following two periods.
