Vikas Sethi aspired to become an actor since childhood. According to him, it was his father’s dream for Vikas to become an actor.

After completing his formal education, Sethi moved to Mumbai to pursue acting at the age of 17.

In Mumbai, he began taking acting classes at the Roshan Taneja School of Acting.

Later, he began modelling and appeared in various television commercials.

According to Vikas, his first pay cheque was Rs. 10,000 and he bought clothes with it.

In 2003, he appeared in the Indian television serial Kahiin To Hoga. In the show, he played the role of Swayam Shergill.
