• Vinoth was nominated for the Best Villain award at the Vijay Awards for his performance in the Tamil film Naan Mahaan Alla. For playing an antagonist in the film, Vinoth underwent three months of training under the fight choreographer Mahendran.

• In 2013, Vinoth appeared in the Tamil film Vidiyum Munn in which he played the role of Chinnayyah. For playing a fierce character like Chinnayyah, Vinoth practised the art of not blinking his eyes as he was asked by his director to reduce the frequent blinking of his eyes.
