  • He started his journey as a dancer in the 2015 dance reality show ‘Dance India Dance’ that aired on Zee TV. He was one of the Top 30 contestants but could not make it to the Top 15 in the show.
  • After he completed his training in hip hop and contemporary dance forms at The Dance World, he began giving dance workshops for the institute. At The Dance World, he first trained students in the academy’s dance camps, and soon after, he began teaching hip hop full-time to the students.

  • In 2018, he, along with Indian dancer Deepika, participated in the audition for another dance reality show called ‘World Dance League.’

  • The same year, he auditioned as a team member of the ‘Goggle Gang’ in the dance reality show ‘Dance Plus: Season 4,’ which was broadcast on Star Plus. After passing the auditions, Goggle Gang received the purple trophy and became one of the Top 30 contestants in the show. In the mega-auditions of the show, the team couldn’t make it to the Top 12.

  • In 2019, teamed with Deepika, Rupesh contested the dance reality show ‘Dance Plus: Season 5,’ which aired on Star Plus. Deepika and Rupesh were mentored by Karishma Chavan in the show and became one of the finalists of the show. They lost in the finale and become the third runner up. However, they won the title of Loreal Performer of the Season in the show.

  • The following year saw Rupesh as a mentor of a contestant named Sameep Dhakne in the Marathi dance reality show ‘Maharashtra’s Best Dancer,’ which was broadcast on Sony Marathi and judged by Dharmesh Yelande and Pooja Sawant. Their team could not go too far in the show as Sameep faced elimination on 16 February 2021.

  • In 2021, he contested as a choreographer of the contestant Piyush Gurbhele in the dance reality show ‘Dance Deewane: Season 3,’ which aired on Colors TV. The judges of the show were Madhuri Dixit, Tushar Kalia, and Dharmesh Yelande. Soni and Gurbhele won the reality show and earned the Dance Deewane trophy, Rs. 40 lakh, and a Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. In an interview with a publication, Rupesh said,

    This is a big win for me and my partner Piyush. It was a great journey performing in front of celebrated artists who helped and guided us throughout. This show has opened so many doors for us to make a successful career in this field.”
