Some Lesser Known Facts About Junmoni Rabha

• Junmoni Rabha was an Indian police personnel who hit the headlines after arresting her fiance on charges of fraud. She was killed in a road accident at Kaliabor in Assam’s Nagaon district after the vehicle in which she was travelling collided with a container truck bearing registration number ‘UP 78UT 4518’ near Sarubhagia village on National Highway 37 on the night of 15 May 2023.

• Junmoni arrested her fiance herself when she got to know that he was duping people by claiming to be a Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Assam and promising them to provide job. She filed an FIR against him and arrested him. In an interview, while talking to the media, she said,
  

  I am grateful to the three people who came to me with information about him (Rana Pogag) on how big a fraud he is. They opened my eyes.”

• She was supposed to get married to Rana in November 2021.

• In May 2022, she was accused of corruption charges when it was reported that Ram Abatar Sharma and Ajit Bora, two contractors from Majuli, paid Rs 50 lakh and Rs 13.72 lakh respectively to her fiance, Rana Pogag in her presence. Amid these charges, she was transferred to Kaliabor.

• On 5 May 2022, she was arrested by the police in connection to a corruption case. When she was arrested, she said that it was a controversy against her.
