Controversies	Domestic Violence Charges Mayweather was charged with two counts of domestic violence and one count of misdemeanour battery (one person intentionally hits or hurts a member of their household) in 2002. He received a six-month suspended sentence, two days of house arrest, and was ordered to do 48 hours of community service. Punching two women in a nightclub On 1 August 2003, Mayweather, Tom Summers, and another man spotted Herneatha McGill and Karra Blackburn at the Ra nightclub in the Luxor, Las Vegas. McGill said that she tried to leave the club when she spotted Mayweather. She revealed that Mayweather had a problem with her due to her friendship with Josie Harris, Mayweather's girlfriend at that time. In June 2004, he was found guilty of two counts of battery and was given suspended six-month prison sentences on each count and a $500 fine or 50 hours of community service for each count. He was also ordered to undergo counselling for impulse control.^[1]Las Vegas Sun Kicking a bouncer On 18 December 2003, William Morris, a part-time bouncer at The Radio Tavern bar in Las Vegas, was knocked down on the ground and a bottle was hit on his head by a man. When he was 2 years old, his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Tony Sinclair, his maternal uncle, got into a fight during which Sinclair aimed a gun to shoot Mayweather Sr. His father used him as a human shield to save himself, hence Sinclair fired at his father’s leg, taking out most of his left calf.
