- Yash Thakur is an Indian cricketer. He played for the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League.
- In an interview, he revealed that India’s victory in the 2011 Cricket World Cup inspired him to be a professional cricketer. Although he played amateur cricket before 2011, India’s performance deeply inspired him and made him enrol at a professional coaching centre.
- In 2011, Thakur joined the Pravin Hinganikar Cricket Academy (PHCA) in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Initially, he preferred batting over bowling and played as a batter in some of the underage tournaments; however, later, he realised his potential for bowling and shifted his focus to develop himself as a bowler at the PHCA academy under the guidance of the coaches, Pravin Hinganikar and Nitin Kanhere.
- Yash was an ardent fan of the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and followed in his footsteps and started playing cricket as a wicketkeeper batter. Yash’s first coach, Pravin Hinganikar, suggested he switch from wicketkeeping to fast bowling.
