- He completed his Master of Science (MSc) under the guidance of Dr. T. Yallamanda Reddy, who was the former Dean of Agriculture at Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU).
- While pursuing his doctorate at IARI (Indian Agricultural Research Institute), he began preparing for the Indian Civil Services and successfully cleared the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) examination in 1990.
