• Akash Dodeja, popularly known as Jadoo, is an Indian comedic actor, vlogger, YouTuber and social media sensation who is popular for appearing in the funny videos of well-known YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani.

• He spent his childhood in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra.

• During an interview, Akash shared that he pursued a degree in chemical engineering as his father owned a chemical company. His intention was to study chemical engineering and eventually join his father’s business and expand it.

• Since he was a little kid, he really liked films and showbiz. When he was young, he’d sit with his father and watch old films just because it was nice and cool in the room with the air conditioning. Later on, he chose the science stream in Classes 11 and 12. He went to extra classes at MBGT, where he met Ashish Chanchlani. One day, at MBGT, Ashish and his friend Karan were arguing about how Akshay Kumar laughed. Akash was sitting behind them. Karan said Akshay Kumar’s laugh was original, but Ashish claimed that he was copying an old Bollywood actor’s laugh. In the middle of their argument, Akash said Akshay Kumar was actually imitating the laughs of veteran actors Pran and Jeevan, who worked in the Hindi film industry in the 1950s and 1990s. Ashish was impressed with Akash’s Bollywood knowledge, and they became friends.

• After Class 12, Akash went on to join Thadomal Shahani Engineering College in Mumbai, while Ashish enrolled in Datta Meghe College of Engineering in Navi Mumbai. Around 2014-15, Ashish started making short videos on Vine while still in college and shared them on social media. Watching Ashish, Akash also got interested in making videos. They would get together on weekends, and Akash would help Ashish make funny videos for Ashish’s YouTube channel. But for Akash, it was just something fun to do in his free time.

• After finishing his engineering degree, he worked in the corporate sector for two years before becoming a full-time YouTuber.

• In July 2015, he took the role of Process Engineer at Aker Solutions in Mumbai, a company specializing in oilfield services subsea (technology) engineering. He was initially hired as a contract trainee with the expectation of becoming a permanent employee in one and a half years. However, the company had to let go of contract trainees in 2017 due to a sudden drop in oil prices.

• Subsequently, in 2017, he took on the position of Process Engineer at TechnoQuest, Inc, where he worked for seven months.

• During this time, he decided to appear in the CAT exam with the goal of pursuing an MBA. Simultaneously, on weekends, he would collaborate with Ashish Chanchlani in creating vines. Meanwhile, he joined his father’s chemical business. Akash Dodeja is the Director of Ralline Exim Pvt. Ltd since 2019.

• On the day of his CAT exam, fellow aspirants recognized him as Jadoo and asked if he was the person from Ashish Chanchlani’s videos. This led to people taking pictures with him, making him realize he had a growing fanbase. Consequently, he shifted his focus from pursuing an MBA to taking content creation seriously and managing his father’s business.

• Eventually, he was featured in numerous vines with Ashish Chanchlani, such as The reality of every new year plan (2016) When mom is scolding your brother & you are enjoying it (2017), That friend Who always says no to all our plans (2017), and The Palti-Khor FRIEND (2017), alongside other collaborators like Kunal Chhabhria, Simran Dhanwani, Rohit Sadhwani, Anmol Sachar, Barkha Singh, Bhavika Motwani, Radhika Bangia, Pulkit Samrat, and Varun Sharma.
